NEW INSTRUCTORS

The GSDCV is one of the few volunteer dog training clubs that requires all its Instructors to be qualified in the latest obedience training methods to ensure a consistent and positive experience for the members and dogs. To gain these qualifications aspiring instructors must complete a 2 year training course that has been designed and delivered by the GSDCV Obedience Training Committee (OTC). The course consists of monthly theory sessions run at the Western Branch at Keilor Downs and a series of practical lessons and mentoring at various branches of the club.

In 2015 5 members of the Gippsland Branch commenced the Aspiring Instructors course. After hundreds of kilometres travelled, countless hours of mentoring and instruction by GSDCV Instructors at Gippsland and other branches of the GSDCV, a 3 hour written exam and a practical exam they have all successfully graduated as qualified obedience instructors. The Gippsland 5 as they became affectionately known were presented with their certificates by  OTC Administrator Mrs Marilyn Wrigley at the 2017 GSDCV Annual General Meeting.

The Gippsland branch congratulates and welcomes to the local Instructor group Carol Batchelor, Ray Batchelor, Alicia Hart, Anna Tyben and Tania Waixel.
